CWT Founder Satnam Singh Sandhu extends greetings on Eid-ul-Fitr; promotes the spirit of communal harmony and brotherhood

1000 residents avail free eye-checkups; Free Spectacles Free Medicines distributed 

Chandigarh Welfare Trust (CWT) organized a free Eye-Checkup Camp at Jama Masjid in Burail of Sector 45, Chandigarh today on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr as to promote the spirit of communal harmony, brotherhood and compassion.

The event was formally inaugurated by Satnam Singh Sadhu, Founder Chandigarh Welfare Trust and Chief Patron NID Foundation, who was the chief guest of the occasion. Gurmail Khan, President Masjid Committee, Chandigarh; and Sagir Ahmed, Vice President Masjid Committee were among the other eminent guests present on the occasion. Over 1000 people benefitted from the free services offered during the camp under the supervision of specialist doctors of Chandigarh University Gharuan. 

The team of specialized doctors from University Institute of Applied Health Sciences, Chandigarh University, offered services such as free vision screening, contact lens counseling, dry eye evaluation, ophthalmic counselling, and other eye-care services. 

During the camp, a total of 1000 people with Eyesight problem were examined by the doctors. Apart from this, 300 spectacles were given to the people with weak eyesight along with free medicines to all examined at the camp. 

Extending heartiest wishes on Eid-ul-Fitr to the gathering at the camp, CWT Founder Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “Eid Mubarak to all the Muslim brothers and sisters, and each one present here on the auspicious occasion that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. This festival is imbued with the feeling of love, compassion and affection for one and all, and gives the message of solidarity and mutual harmony to build a peaceful and prosperous society. As the children of God, let’s pray for the wellness of humankind, and pledge to promote harmony and brotherhood among all.” 

Emphasizing the need for health awareness and regular checkups, CWT Founder Satnam Singh Sandhu said, “Chandigarh Welfare Trust is solely committed towards the welfare of the residents of Chandigarh city, particularly of women, old people, children, and financially needy people. With a motive of ensuring the good health and well-being of every resident of the City Beautiful, CWT has been organizing free health check-up camps across the city ever since its inception, especially in the rural parts of it. As of now, CWT has successfully organized 13 free health camps in various parts of Chandigarh. Today at Jama Masjid in Burail, it is the 14th such camp being organized by the Trust, where about 1000 people have got the advantage of getting their eyes checked. However, the journey does not end here. Chandigarh Welfare Trust will continue to organize such camps till every part of the city is covered, and every resident living here is in good health.”
